Someone thinks I’m lovely…

I have never considered myself to be “lovely”. I’m honestly quite a negative person with myself (woe is me I know but it’s just how I am) so I’m always surprised when I get compliments or anything like that! So I was both delighted and honoured when Irina from I drink and watch anime mentioned me in the One lovely Blogger Award! Seriously thank you so much Irina! I can’t believe you mentioned my small blog it made my day!

Ok so time to think about some interesting things about myself…I got nothing. Just kidding I’m sure I got something to say about myself….

1.A Nerdy Egyptologist 

This one was actually inspired by Irina’s fact about what she wanted to do when she was younger! When I was about 6 maybe 7 years old for a good few years I was set on the idea of becoming an Egyptologist. So basically I wanted to dig up dead people and bits of pottery. Weird dream job for a child to have (then again I was a weird child) but I was obsessed and I mean obsessed with Ancient Egypt and all of its culture and customs! I had tons of books and little statues and everything. I still love the idea of traveling to Egypt and seeing all the ancient ruins as there is something so fascinating about it to me!

2.Blood makes me feel funny

I’m horribly squeamish. I have never liked blood or learning about the gooey mess that is the inside of the human body it’s always caused me great discomfort and at times downright stress. It’s the reason I’m a baby when it comes to horror movies I’m not petrified of the monster it’s the blood and gore that I’m worried about! Funnily enough  though I’m completely fine with gore in anime and videos games (with one tiny exception which was a certain scene from Shiki…still messes me up to think about it). Like seriously give me a gameplay like Outlast (which is brutal) or a series like Another (gore central) and I’m fine but try and make me watch Saw and i’ll drop like a fly.

3.I play the guitar

When I was around 13 I decided I was going to become a rockstar (that didn’t happen)  and I was going to be like my guitar hero Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold (again didn’t happen) but I started to learn to play guitar because I was going to become some kickass female guitarist (can you see a pattern of it didn’t happen). But to this day I still play and go for lessons and everything and I hate to say it but I think I’m pretty good by now (maybe).

4.I’m useless at talking but great at writing

I have always been useless at talking face to face with people. I need time to think and gather my thoughts before I say something but the problem is by the time I gather my thoughts and have something worthwhile to say the conversation has already moved on. It can be so infuriating when I know that I can sit down and write a pretty good paragraph or a text message that is full of humour or intellectual content that actually makes sense and isn’t a load of babble just falling out of my mouth to fill in the conversation. It’s a daily struggle but I try!

5.I’d love to travel

I really want to travel around to different parts of the world. So far I have Florida and Japan down but I also want to travel all around America and Europe and maybe even other parts of Asia. My trip to Japan this year really got the travel bug going for me and now I want to explore other countries even more!

6. I’m a collector

I have always been big into collecting things. Anything from books, DVD’s, figures, anything where I can collect a lot of something. I don’t know why I think I have the collector gene or something because I take pride in being able to own things that hold value whether that be sentimental or money wise as a collectible piece. There is something so satisfying in being able to have and cherish things that are special or limited edition! It always gives me a nice feeling inside!

7. I have a useless talent

So I have the incredibly useless talent of being able to recognise faces and voices when watching TV, anime and movies. The only time it comes in handy is when someone asks who it is and I can act all smarmy because I can tell them who it is right away. Other than that it’s utterly useless but it’s a fun skill to have! Comes in handy especially when I watch anime and I recognise voice actors as it saves me looking it up on Google!
