30 Day Anime Challenge: Day 2 – My Most Favourite of Favourites

Day 2- Favourite Anime You’re Watched So Far

Today’s post is my favourite anime I have watched so far.

My favourite anime I have watched so far is most definitely Gintama. I think if you follow me on twitter or have seen past posts you will probably be able to guess that I really like Gintama. Like a lot.

It’s moments like these that make me love this show!

I only checked out Gintama last year and before watching I honestly knew nothing about it and thought it was a typical long running shounen show. I had heard many people mention it online and give amazing reviews but I had never really looked into it. One day I finally decided to add it to my watch list. I remember having this (what I thought was) instant regret when I clicked on episodes one because the episode count seemed daunting and I thought it’d take forever to watch over 300 episodes. Turns out I was VERY wrong and I binged the show in about 6 weeks. This show kept me company in my final months at college (fun fact for those outside the UK, we have college and then university) in which I was very depressed and stressed out about completing my courses because I hated what I was doing and had had enough. During this time Gintama was able to make me laugh, cry, laugh until I cried and everything in between. I love everything about this anime. The characters, the stories, the humour, the music, everything! No other anime has been able to make me cry laugh and this show brought me so much happiness. I feel like this sounds really sappy but I don’t care because this show means a lot to me. It’s a show I can always go back to when I’m feeling low or need a good laugh and that’s why it’s my favourite.

What’s your favourite anime you have watched so far? I’d love to here about your favourite anime in the comments!

  1. Glad you enjoyed watching Gintama so much. I enjoyed the first season of it but that was enough for me. I’m not hugely into comedy and while I enjoyed the first season of the show, I kind of felt anymore just risked me getting over the characters, the premise and the overall tone of the show so just kind of stopped.

      1. I was surprised by how much fun I had watching it. I didn’t expect it to work for me but I found most of it funny and only a few moments where I really did roll my eyes at it.

      2. Yeah I get what you mean! I didn’t really know if I was going to enjoy it when I first started it but I had no idea what I was getting into. It was funny for me but I can see that not everyone would find it funny. It is a fun watch though.

  2. I also just started watching Gintama last year, I’m almost done with the first season. I need to catch up too! I absolutely love it as well. Have you also checked out One Piece as well? I’m caught up with it and it’s sooo good. It’s also popular for a reason 😀

      1. I know exactly what you mean! Before I watched it the episode count filled me with dread because I thought it’d take forever but the episodes flew by for me! I hope you do give it a go at some point! Oh dear I think it’s best that I don’t meet her then 😂
