Day 5- Anime You’re Ashamed You Enjoyed
It is Day 5 of the 30 Day Anime Challenge and I shall be discussing the anime that I am “ashamed” of enjoying. I put ashamed in quote marks as I don’t really get ashamed about things. I like things that I enjoy and if anyone get’s weirded out by it then it’s their problem not mine! I’d say this one is more of a guilty pleasure than a shameful one.
So my absolute guilty pleasure anime is Cute High Earth Defence Club Love. Why? Because it’s a somewhat embarrassing (but the good kind) anime about magical boys.
I think the whole idea of magical boys is, well magical! I have never been a big fan of the magical girl genre but magical boys is something I can get behind. This is definitely my guilty pleasure as it has a bunch of super cute guys who are put into frilly outfits, made to say embarrassing things and each week fight off evil monsters using the power of love. This show is very repetitive as each episode follows the same kind of plot but it’s such a delight to watch and allows me to enjoy it without having to think too much. It’s funny, cute and the whole concept amuses me. Honestly, I want the magical boy genre to take off because I think it’s fabulous and my brain takes a great amount of joy from it. My ultimate guilty pleasure and I’m not ashamed.

A Nerdy Perspective 
I quite liked the first season of this. It was fun and I liked how over the top they took some elements. By the end of the first season I was kind of done with it though and I didn’t make it through the second season.

Yeah the over the top element is something I really enjoyed. I get that! I really do. It’s a show that can get old fast but something about it kept me watching.

I did not like the second season either but I enjoyed the first enough to be looking forward to the next one

I enjoyed it but I didn’t have to think much and I got to look at cute boys so it was a win win for me 😂 same! I’m really excited for the next season!

I remember watching two episodes of this anime a long time ago and I don’t remember why I stopped watching it but I think I need to check it out again😊

Tried to watch this one, even knowing that the guy behind “Daily Lives of High School Boys” did this but… just wasn’t for me I guess.

Aww that’s a real shame and I did not know that Daily Lives was from the same guy 😱 well I think that probably explains why I want to watch that so badly 🤔
