First of all I must ask the most important question…where is my super badass mission now that I’m officially apart of the brotherhood?! Jokes aside I have been tagged for the brotherhood of the world award by two lovely bloggers. The two bloggers who nominated me were the lovely Spooky from TheSpookyRedHead and the amazing Pete from MoeGamer. Thank you both so much for tagging me! I always appreciate it so much. If you haven’t already go and check out their stuff as they are both amazing, hardworking bloggers!
The rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
- Answer the questions sent to you.
- Nominate around 10 bloggers.
- Create your own set of questions for your nominees and display the rules.
Spooky’s questions:
How did you come up with your blogging name? (Again, stealing the question… It’s a good one!)
This is such a good question but I fear my answer is very boring. When I was trying to pluck up the courage to start a blog I was playing around with names in my head. I was continuously going back to names that had the word nerd or geek in the name and I knew that if I had something like that in my name it would get the point of my blog and what it’s like across to people without being too specific. Being less specific and not having the word anime or manga in my name made me feel that I had more room to play with content on my blog and I didn’t have to stick to a set idea if I wanted to change things up at a later date. The perspective part of my blogging name came from the simple fact that I’m only one person and whatever I write is from my perspective and my perspective only. I think part of me wanted to get that fact across in my name I guess so I could dodge hate easier if someone started having a go at me for saying something that was just my opinion (although I’ve luckily escaped any kind of hate up until now which is awesome).
If you had to change your username and/or blog name, what would you change it to?
I honestly have no idea. I’m actually really happy with my name and I think I did a pretty good job naming my blog as it isn’t too weird or cringey…right?! But maybe if I had to change it maybe something similar to the one I have now but like “thenerdytraveler” or something along those lines.
What is one thing you’d like to post about on your blog that you haven’t yet? (A certain show, type of format etc.)
I have thought about doing other kinds of reviews for none anime related shows and movies. I have also thought about posting a daily entry of photos and a small diary of what I get up to when I’m in Japan.
What first got you into blogging?
One word, university. As boring as that sounds it’s my first few weeks at uni that made me start one as my tutors said it would be useful. Up until that point I’d never even thought that I could blog about anime and stuff. It just never registered until blogging was mentioned by my tutors.
What was the latest blog you’ve followed?
A couple of the latest blogs I have followed include:
Moegamers questions:
Have your tastes in [insert your favourite form of entertainment here, be it anime, manga, games or whatever] changed since you were younger? Why do you think this might have happened, if so? (Or why not, if not?)
This is such an interesting question. I feel like it’s actually both yes and no. I’ve always been a fan of animation so that certainly hasn’t changed since I was younger. However, I think my tastes have changed in the sense that I watch a lot of different genres of anime whereas when I was younger I don’t know if I would have been so open to different genres and styles.
You’re presented with a piece of your favourite form of entertainment that is popularly regarded as “bad” for some reason. How do you approach it? (Do you approach it at all?)
I think it depends really on how and whether I would approach it. I think if I were hyped for an anime that others considered bad I would definitely still try it out and see it for myself as at the end of the day only I can determine for myself whether I think it’s “bad” or not.
What is your “magic button” for a piece of entertainment? What makes you immediately know that you’re going to love it?
I think when it comes to anime my magic button is when I read a really ridiculous concept for a series. I’ve always been drawn to stuff that’s weird and different from everything else so if something has an out of the box concept then I know deep down that I’ll probably end up loving it. Mahou Shoujo Ore is a perfect example of my magic button as I knew months before it came out that I’d love it from the concept alone.
If you had the opportunity to make the work you do on your blog a sustainable, full-time job from which you could draw a living wage, would you do it? Why/why not?
Yes! I would do it in a heartbeat if it was possible. I think because although blogging now is a hobby I go to it with a work ethic. I don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing but that’s just how I work. I’m not someone who does something halfhearted and I think I treat my blog as something that could be part of my future job. Considering my blog is my space to post whatever I want I think it would be incredible to be able to make it my full-time job.
Which of MoeGamer’s mascots is Best Girl? (Midori is the redhead, Yumi is the brunette, the less frequently seen catgirl is Penelope.)
I think I’d probably go with Midori as I think red headed girls are super adorable. I see Midori regularly as she is MoeGamers picture on his blog. She always looks super cute and smiley and I love that!
Now as for who I shall be tagging I choose:
As always don’t feel pressured to do this tag if you have already done so or don’t want to!
My questions:
What is your favourite TV show outside of anime?
If you were playing a game of Dungeons and Dragons what would your character be and why?
You have two machines. One can take you into the depths of space and you can travel across the universe. The other is a time machine which can take you to whatever point in time in the past or future. Which do you choose and why?
Which anime/manga/game/movie/etc do you think has been the best to come out of 2018 so far?
What attracted you to anime/manga/gaming in the first place?
Until next time thanks for reading and I hope you’re having a great day!
Keep up to date with me on:

Thanks for the tag! I look forward to answering these questions! I agree wtih your magic button idea, if a show has a great premise it’s rare that I won’t like the show! I also find it great how you had the idea of starting blogging, it’s great how your professor suggested it! Thinking about it blogging is actually a fairly useful thing to do! It improves your writing, if I didn’t have a blog I wouldn’t have written anything since I left school!

No problem! 😊 I look forward to seeing your answers! And right? I always know instantly when it comes to a great premise. Yes I’m so glad I followed through with their suggestion too. Yes it’s been so useful and I think it’s really improved my writing since I started which is amazing! It’s awesome that blogging has kept you writing. I love that! 😄

Yeah same, it just helps so dramatically. You don’t really notice it until you see someone else write or type something how much of an improvement it makes! It oddly helps with crosswords I think, my mum was reading out crossword clues in my ear shot and I got a lot of the ones she didn’t know fairly quickly! It was pretty funny though not a skill that I would generally want to have.

It does and yeah you don’t notice but I love the fact that there is constant improvement when blogging! Haha that’s so cool! I love crosswords and it’s cool that’s a skill you have picked up on haha!

haha! Yeah, you are so much more focused on getting your point across that you just don’t notice any improvement.
I hope it’s a skill I’ve picked up, it’s just as likely that I was lucky (but don’t tell anyone that!)

Yeah exactly! I love the fact that we can improve without really think about it xD that’s the best kind of improvement haha!
And haha I’d like to bet it’s a skill and not just pure luck!

Yeah because it’s suddenly thrust upon you and you’re like eh? I got this without really feeling like I actually worked for it? GREAT!

Nice answers! I like your blog name too, like you said it’s very relevant and yet allows for you to talk about anything you want without being too specific! I just looked up Mahou Shoujo Ore too, and that plot synopsis seems… interesting I guess you could say? 😅
