Autumn 2018: What I’ll be Watching

The autumn season for 2018 is here. I have no idea where this year is going but somehow we are already in autumn and everyone is preparing for the season of spooks. I usually do these what i’ll be watching posts at least a couple of weeks before everything starts but with life getting in the way recently I hadn’t found time until now. I’m a little behind but better late than never. When I have been looking at this new season I feel like it’s a lacking a little compared to previous seasons this year. Whilst browsing MyAnimeList for the new lineup I found that there are a lot of shows I just don’t find interesting this season. That being said I have found a few hopeful diamonds in the rough which I’ll hopefully be giving a watch. Here is a handful of the shows I’ll be looking out for this autumn.

Zombieland Saga

Zombieland Saga Anime

First up is an anime I am hyped for as it fits the spooky season perfectly. I know next to nothing about Zombieland Saga but the visuals alone make me excited and intrigued. From this visual alone it screams to me that it could be a potentially great horror anime. As a lover of the horror genre I have high hopes that this will gives me some chills this Halloween. The characters look very sweetly drawn which suggests it may take a School Live route in being deceptive with that. Also I want to know what’s up with the zombie dog. Hopefully Zombieland Saga won’t disappoint!

Tokyo Ghoul:Re Season 2

Tokyo Ghoul;Re Season 2

When the first season of Tokyo Ghoul:Re finished it seemed like forever until season two was going to air. It’s finally here and I’m actually pretty hyped to continue this anime. I know that this new instalment of the anime disappointed a lot of people. The amount of people I have seen telling everyone to go read the manga is countless. Nevertheless I am still up and ready to check out this season and see where it goes. I do plan on reading the manga at some point too but this will suffice for now.

Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san

Anything that involves comedy, vampires and otaku culture is bound to go down well with me. Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san just sounds like a fun little series that will keep me entertained over the fall season. I’m hoping this series will deliver in terms of otaku culture and will be packed with fun references and moe cuteness. The character designs look adorable which is a plus as I do enjoy the cute girls doing cute things trope.

Uchi no Maid ga Uzasugiru!

This one sounds interesting. I want to check it out as I am very curious about what it will be like. I love comedy and slice of life anime but am a little skeptical at the loli element of the series. This is either going to capture my attention and make me laugh or make me cringe and dump the show as soon as I started it. We will see what happens.

Yagate Kimi ni Naru

I do love myself a good romance series and this one sounds promising. I haven’t had much experience watching Shoujo-ai so this should be an interesting one to check out. I’m hoping it will be a really sweet story as the synopsis sounds pretty good. I’m a little apprehensive that this will be like Citrus as that’s the only experience I have with girl on girl romance anime but I very much doubt it will be anything like that. I hope this series will give me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

So that’s my list for the upcoming season. What will you guys be checking out? Anything on this list or maybe something else?

Until next time thanks for reading and I hope you’re having a great day!

  1. Oh my gosh, I haven’t even begun to look into anime from this season yet. Lately I’ve been watching old anime. I didn’t even know TG:Re Season 2 was a thing until now, hahaha.
