Christmas 2018 has come and gone and we are now in the limbo between Christmas and New Years where all I do is eat chocolate, be lazy and enjoy my presents. This Christmas has been truly wonderful and I feel so lucky to have received everything I have. The main item I asked for this year was a Nintendo Switch because I really missed gaming and Nintendo has always been good to me with its products.
I decided to get the neon blue and red console as I thought it looked cooler and far more interesting than just plain black.
Along with the console I received some games. The first being the beloved series of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a necessity to any Nintendo fan. I also received Super Mario Odyssey which is a game I have heard so many positive things about. I got the infuriating but also insanely addictive Crash Bandicoot N’ Sane Trilogy game, this game makes me rage so much but I love it. I also purchased the terrifying Outlast game through the E Shop. I love Outlast but boy that game is hard to actually play myself. It’s so much easier to watch someone else play it.
Upon opening the Switch as a present I was excited by the red and white box that appeared out of the paper and when unboxing the actual console I was quite satisfied with the packaging. Everything was perfect. The Switch loaded up quick and simple and the setting up process took a matter of minutes. The sleek design when holding the console matched with the subtle noises used when navigating made me nerd out so much and brought back a lot of memories of playing Nintendo as a kid.
Setting up to work on the TV was the part I was dreading the most. I thought it either wouldn’t work all together because the cables wouldn’t slot in anywhere or I would end up making a complete mess of the TV. Thankfully the process was pretty simple and everything was up and ready (with nothing broken WOOHOO) in no time at all.
The graphics on both handheld and TV mode are incredible. I knew the handheld would be pretty good but I doubted the overall quality when it loaded onto the TV. The quality is beyond what I expected and I’m so impressed with the graphics on every game I have played so far. The controls are also very easy to use in both handheld mode and controller mode. Both ways are very easy to control and feel very comfortable in my hands.
So far I have already put quite a bit of time into playing the Swicth. I’m very impressed with everything so far and feel happy and excited to play it every time I pick it up. The Switch is definitely going to be my new obsession and I have no complaints about that.
Until next time thanks for reading and I hope you’re having a great day!
