It’s safe to say that 2018 has been…a year. I mean what else can I say about this year it’s been terrible let’s be real here. Terrible or not and as easy as it is to look back and see all the negatives this post is actually going to be highlighting some of the most positive moments of the year for me. Although this year has been a crazy rollercoaster for me I thought it would be fun to reflect on the happy parts of the year. I feel I have done some growing this year. It’s been a rocky ride and I have had some real highs and some really bad lows but overall it’s been a time for me to grow as a person, learn new things and gain new experiences.
Blogging
My blog has been full of wonderful memories and milestones this year. I hit so many different goals and milestones that I have lost track at this point. 2018 was the year that I finally hit 100 followers and now we are heading into 2019 I am currently at over 350. That’s such a big achievement for me and I’m proud to have come so far. I cannot believe how much I have grown over the year and me when I first started out would never have imagined I would get this far. I feel my writing style and overall experience with being a blogger has come a long way throughout the year and with every post I think I get better and better.
I also decided to upgrade my blogging plan this year. I upgraded to the premium package back in January and I have had quite a few perks including WordAds which has given me a small little trickle of revenue in over the course of the year. This also allowed me to have my own domain name which will always make me so happy and proud to see.
The blogging community has been spectacular over the course of the year. Everyone is so friendly and kind and the amount of fun and support I have had from you all is incredible and I’m so thankful that I found this community. It’s seriously the best community and I love it!

Travel
This year has been a wonderful year where travel is concerned. My first trip of the year was back in January with my long weekend in the beautiful capital city of London. London is a beautiful city which I had missed dearly over the past few years. I had a truly wonderful and memorable time with my parents during this trip and it’s something I look back on with great fondness. I got to go check out a musical which I learnt a lot from, visit some of my favourite museums and wander the beautiful area of Camden Town. My London trip was also where I tested out my Nerdy Travels series which has now become a beloved series of mine.
Of course with talk of travel comes the obvious trip I took to Japan in September. I was fortunate enough to go back to Japan for a second time and experience the beautiful land of the rising sun all over again in a new and exciting way. This trip to Japan was a wild ride and I got to experience some things that I never imagined I ever would. Every beautiful or crazy moment makes me feel so accomplished as a person. I never thought I would be able to see things like Mount Fuji or the Atomic Dome in my lifetime and I feel very proud to be able to have seen such sights at my age.
University
University has treated me well over the course of 2018. Or should I say I worked my my butt off in order for it to go well for me. This year I completed my first year of uni with flying colours and moved up into my second year. I learnt a lot, got the grades I hoped for and just feel proud of myself for being able to say I’m a university student. I have learnt so much from my course throughout 2018 and I think it has really helped my writing skills in both the course and this blog.
Friends and Family
I have been so grateful for my family and friends this year. I am fortunate to have a very loving support system which has been crucial over the course of 2018. I think I have grown even closer to my family and friends this year especially my best friend and I am so incredibly thankful for that fact. Even through the rockier times I have had so many laughs and so many happy moments.
Anime
I cannot do a positive review of 2018 without including my biggest passion of anime. Anime has been a huge part of my life this year especially with my blog and is something that gets me through the tough times. It’s my comforter and helps me to relax and enjoy time to myself. I watched an awful lot this year and checked out many classics as well as many seasonal shows. As the years go by I swear I get more and more passionate about anime and 2018 has been a great example of that for me. I hope next year is just as amazing where anime is concerned!
So that was my positive review for the year. It’s been great to reflect on many of the positives of the year as I have a habit of forgetting the positives and focusing on the negatives.
Until next time thanks for reading and I hope you’re having a great day!
Keep up to date with me on:
I’m glad to hear you can focus on the joys that you had last year. I agree, it’s very easy to lose track of what makes us happy. I have such petty problems that led to me forgetting that.
Happy New Year!
