HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! It is officially 2019 and it feels really weird saying that. A new year is a fresh slate and whilst I have never been one to think that a new year means a new me as a person it does give me the perfect excuse to try and do some things to improve myself and my life. Here are some of my resolutions for 2019!

Read more literature

I’ve always been a bookworm. A few years ago I read an awful lot as I spent a lot of time out in the Lake District surrounded by nature, little technology and zero distractions. This meant I could grab myself a pile of books and read like my life depended on it. Nowadays with university, a blog and other commitments it’s a hobby which often gets put at the very bottom of my to do list. My pile of books in turning into a small mountain in my room now and I have everything from manga and comics to full fictional series to read and complete. Instead of just mindlessly watching true crime cases on youtube I can go pick up a book and stretch my mind and imagination some more this coming year. I’ve already made a start as I have begun the chilling classic of The Shining by Stephen King and have the Tomie manga on the go too!

Loose weight

Oh look, it’s the most overused, stereotypical resolution ever! But seriously I really need to loose a bit of weight especially after spending a Christmas in a house full of chocolate. It tastes good but it isn’t good for my shape that’s for sure. Loosing weight to gain ultimate happiness isn’t never going to happen but it can be a beneficial step in giving myself the extra TLC I need.

Redecorate my bedroom

I don’t really know if this could be considered a resolution but I’m planning on revamping my room this year. My current bedroom makes me so unhappy and I think mixing things up and creating my own space which fits me as a person now will help me feel a better about things. I want a nice, cozy space to play games, read, blog and watch anime and hopefully this will fulfil that goal. A new comfy bed, cute fairy lights, nice artwork and photographs, I want to go all out on it this year.

Improve my reviewing skills

Ed from Cowboy Bebop

Every time I sit down at my computer to type I know I will improve slightly with my writing skills. Although improvement is often a very slow process which takes a long time I’d love to think that I can improve my writing skills a lot where reviewing content is concerned over the course of 2019. I’d like to expand my horizons a bit and try reviewing other films, books and TV series on top of my regular anime content.

Watch more anime

Again, I doubt this could be considered a resolution but it’s going on here anyway! I’m someone who likes to be constantly learning and gaining more and more out of something I find interesting. Therefore I want to expand my anime horizons even further this year and be able to review and discuss it with all you wonderful people on here.

Step out of my comfort zone more

Over the past couple of months I have been making little baby steps to change my life up and step out of my comfort zone in order to do new things. No one likes stepping out of their comfort zone, I mean, it’s comfy so why would you? Nevertheless I want to make even more steps to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. Fingers crossed I won’t chicken out of this resolution as it’s by far the scariest.

That is my list of resolutions for this next year. Maybe through actually recording them and putting them onto the internet I’ll stick to them all…or maybe not. We’ll see!

Until next time thanks for reading and I hope you’re having a great day!
