Universal Studios was the next destination of our Florida trip. We managed to get down to Universal for a couple of days throughout the trip as alongside Disney I’m a huge fan of franchises such as Harry Potter and the Simpsons! It was a super hot and sunny day which made everything super photogenic but also made wandering around the parks a little harder because it was HOT.
Universal has two separate parks and on this day we decided to start out in the Universal Studios park. When first getting into the park you are met with a fun Hollywood and New York style buildings which are accompanied with various rides including Despicable Me, Shrek and The Mummy. A lot of the buildings and some of the restaurants have a very cool vintage vibes including Mel’s Drive-In which looks like a classic American diner with vintage cars outside to finish off the look.
Across from Mel’s Drive-In sits one of my family and I’s favourite attractions, the Horror Make Up Show! This show is a fun interactive show in which you get to see some behind the scenes tips and tricks on Hollywood and find out how some of Universal Studios classic monsters came into being. It is a hilarious mixture of comedy and learning which is really fun. Even squeamish people like myself find it really funny and interesting since the gory details are broken down into the techniques which are used to create the effects which makes them a lot less scary in my book. Before the show begins you can also see a range of props, monsters and information on some of the classic films such as Dracula and Frankenstein and this time around they has some cool props and info from the latest The Mummy film.
After the Horror Make Up Show we headed up through Springfield home of the infamous Simpsons family before making our way over to Diagon Alley.
Since this blog post is jam-packed full of photos and memories I have decided to split this day into two sections so part two will hopefully be out tomorrow where I’ll talk more about the Wizarding World!
Until next time thanks for reading and I hope you’re having a great day!
Keep up to date with me on:
We went to the Mummy thing and then I got insanely sick from the Harry Potter ride there. Don’t remember much after that.

I blame it on my wife who insisted I’d be okay.
